There’s a new trend that’s catching in cheap fun: Frisbee Golf.

I was introduced to this activity a few years ago and fell in love. It’s cheap, I can play with my guy friends and stand a chance at actually winning (sort of), and it gives us something to do outside.

Courses are all over the place, you just have to keep your eyes open.

Here’s a list of area courses:

Fort Walton Beach – Ferry Park

Gulf Breeze – Sunset Disc

Destin – Mango Disc

Milton – King Park

Pensacola – University of West Florida

Playing is fairly simple. All you need is the disc golf Frisbee, which is a weighted Frisbee, and an hour or two to kill.

Last week, I met up with some friends and we played with partners. To do this, you each throw and then wherever the closest Frisbee to the hole lands is where you throw from next.

That's me and my partner, Parker. We basically dominated.

I really like the sport because it’s outdoors and all you have to do is get a group of friends together. Unlike going to the movies, you get to talk and laugh while still playing the game.

If I’m being honest, though, I did start to lose focus around hole 15 …

But for families and friends, it’s definitely a great activity to get you out and about (get it – ’cause that’s the name of my blog).
